This patient VY had a basal cell carcinoma (BCC) found on a routine skin check. He had previously had another BCC taken out in hospital which was repaired by a skin graft. He was not happy with the outcome so a surgical repair using a flap was designed. Click on the image to see the surgical planning and outcome.

Patient KS had a large BCC on his foot. A split thickness skin graft is the natural choice for closures on the lower leg due to poor blood supply and not much loose skin to work with. The patient was adamant he did not want a split thickness skin graft as he knew someone who had a skin graft on the leg which failed and took several months to heal. A non-graft solution was found.
